Georges Tomb is an award-winning composer and concert pianist of international fame.
Raised in a family of professional artists, Tomb passionately delved in to the world of music at the age of four.
His compositions were performed on many prestigious stages in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.Tomb has been involved in the Classical world, Ballet, and cinema including the movies, Enough! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour, Romano Artioli! Reviving Bugatti, Inferno in Paris, Sicilian Holiday, I want to be Neenja! The movie, Clay, and more to come in 2024 that include; Purple Gold, L’Homme des Signes, Regarde et ferme les yeux, Kings of the Cross and many more..He was introduced in Italy as “the Young Morricone “by Maestro Francesco Attardi with the San Remo Symphony and the “Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana“at the prestigious classical Italian Festival “Serate Musicali’’ under the Patronage of the Italian Government in Milano.He is the official commissioned composer of the Italian ballet "Pinocchio" with Balletto Del Sud and primed Choreographer Freddy Franzutti.The ballet will tour the world, end of 2024 for the 140th Anniversary of the Carlo Collodi Novel. Pinocchio will have its world premiere at the Opera di Lecce in Italy in the Fall of 2024, then will have a station in Monaco before hitting a world tour across the US, Asia, Europe & the Middle East.He was officially commissioned to start writing the first creation of “Picasso-the Ballet “, for his 50th Death Anniversary in 2024.Tomb will have his Carnegie Hall premiere on the 25th of May 2024 in New York City where he was commissioned to write a piece dedicated to the US Memorial Day with the choir & orchestra conducted by Maestra Joanna Medawar Nachef.The piece is entitled “A Memorial Bow “(World Premiere), next to another piece performed by the Orchestra “United Against Violence “and a solo piano piece composed by Tomb.Georges Tomb had many concerts, orchestral performances and stations all around the world including le Petit Palais Paris, Salle Gaveau Paris, Misericordia di Venezia, Venice Opera-La Fenice, Norris Theater LA, James Armstrong Theater LA, Casino Baden Vienna, Casino di San Remo, Basilica di San Marco Milano, Prince Rainier Hall Monaco, Oman Opera House, the Royal Cultural Center Jordan ( under Queen Noor Al-Hussein’s patronage) , La Belle Epoque Hall Hermitage Monaco, Czech Brethren Evangelical Cathedral Prague, the Carlton Hotel for the opening of the Cannes film festival 2023 , The Jonathan Club Los Angeles, Theatre du Boulevard Beirut & Palais des Congrès.His soundtrack for the Australian Production “Enough! Lebanon’s Darkest Hour” has won him several awards in the US and Europe and was primed in Cannes 2022 including “Best Music Feature Film” at the “Hollywood International Golden age Festival” 2022 - New York and “Outstanding Excellence” for Original Score at the “DWB International Film Festival” in Delaware USA and “Best Music in a Feature Film “at the Austin International Film Festival- Texas 2023.
This soundtrack was performed live with the orchestra and for the first time, in Los Angeles on the 26th of March 2023 at the James Armstrong Theater.
Georges Tomb wrote the song music “Foolish Acrobat “for the movie “Sicilian Holiday “produced by Academy Award Winner/former Disney Executive Adam Leipzig who wrote the lyrics for the song.
He wrote with Leipzig a new song for the Grammy Award Winning Soprano Hila Plitmann entitled “Rising with the Moon”.
Plitmann who sang his music in LA with the Orchestra under the patronage of LA Mayor Eric Garceti.He is currently writing the soundtrack of Mario Kassar’s upcoming movie, Mario who is the producer of Terminator, Rambo and Basic instinct. As well as the movie soundtrack of “Siege of Tyre “, “Beyruth“written by Emmy award Winner Writer Suzan Marya Baronoff and “Kings of the Cross “written by Nico Lathouris ( The writer of Mad Max Furiosa) & Ronny Mouawad.Georges is also writing an Ave Maria dedicated to the world peace that will be performed at the Vatican at a papal Mass end of 2024.
He had his first Monegasque station on the 6th of April 2023, in a special event for the closing ceremony dedicated for the official exhibition of “Les Carabiniers du Prince “at the Prince Rainier III Monte Carlo Hall, Monaco station in partnership with SNCF.
Tomb has many orchestral projects in Europe and is writing the music show of world-renowned Soprano Aida Garifullina next to his debut at Carnegie Hall in May 2024; where he was commissioned to write a piece dedicated for the Memorial Day.He premiered his classical career with the Lebanese Philharmonic orchestra conducted by Maestra Joanna Nachef who flew from LA to be part of this journey.
Together, they inaugurated the Theatre du boulevard in Beirut and had many concerts in Los Angeles including the Norris and the James Armstrong theaters.
His album with the Kiev Philharmonic reached “Best Sellers” in Virgin Megastores Middle East.He will be releasing his new album “If Only “ end of 2024, recorded with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra which he has recorded several soundtracks with including the movies I want to be Neenja,Inferno in Paris & Bugatti.Tomb performed his music in a concert at the opening of the Better World Fund Gala Ceremony supporting the David Lynch foundation during the Venice Film Festival 2022 at the Misericordia di Venezia with the presence of Legendary French Actress “Catherine Deneuve “and premiered the Better World Fund ceremony at the Festival de Cannes in May 2023 with the support/presence of Leonardo Dicaprio.Tomb’s international breakthrough came at age twenty, when his music was performed side by side with perennial opuses of Beethoven, Mozart, Verdi, and Mendelssohn, by the San Remo Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Francesco Attardi, in the San Remo Opera House (November 2016). Attardi, who fully believed in Tomb’s music, repeated the same feat during an official Christmas concert of the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana conducted by him at the Basilica di San Marco in Milano (December 2018) within the framework of the prestigious classical Italian festival Serate Musicali under the patronage of the Italian government. At this second concert, Attardi introduced the composer to the public as “the young Morricone”, stating that he sees in Tomb a worthy successor of the famed Italian composer. He later described the enthusiastic reception of Tomb’s music by the demanding and punctilious Milanese audience as a real “triumph”.At the Petit Palais (Paris), a piano concert attended by many celebrities, including Emanuelle Béart, Patrick Fiori, Princess Rawda Al-Thani, Diane Pernet, and Elie Saab (2017). He had also played a concert at the Norris Theater for the Performing Arts (Los Angeles) with orchestra and choir, in which his musical piece Promise was world-premiered by L.A. Master Choir Soprano Andrea Zomorodian (April 2018).As a consequence of Tomb’s meteoric artistic rise, awards andrecognitions piled up. Already at the age of ten, he was honored with the Talent Award by Lebanon’s First Lady, Mrs. Andrée Lahoud (Presidential Palace, 2002). The book Meet the 100 (published by LGM Société de Presse in 2017) selected him as one of the hundred most influential Lebanese figures around the globe.In 2022, Georges was honored by the US ambassador in Beirut Dorothy Shea at the embassy in a ceremony celebrating his US awards.He was honored by the university of Balamand by its upper administration to be the guest speaker at the university’s commencement ceremony of 2019 in front of thousands of graduates together with board members, faculty, and parents.In 2018, he was hand-picked by the company Mont Blanc to be its arts ambassador in the Middle East. He was mentioned in Zeina Kayali’s book (2018) among the most influential Arab composers from the 19th century onwards, and was honored with the Murex d’Or Award as “youngest Lebanese composer” (2015) as well as “most promising international composer” by the House of the Artist in Lebanon (2019).A guest of honor on countless occasions for newspapers and audio- visual media, whether American, European & MEastern.He was the main cover of the American LA newspaper “Easy Reader News” as “The Promise of something great “.Tomb had always this constant and remarkable message to convey:“Music for me is really something sacred. I honestly feel that it is a gift from God, a message He wants me to share with all humankind. I have never understood how I compose, or how I start a new composition. It was always there.”The Beirut Marathon adapted Tomb’s music to be the official Marathon anthem for its 2021 campaign edition.He studied composition & orchestration with Conrad Pope and Christopher Young in Vienna; then later in Los Angeles, his first orchestration, composition & piano teachers were his father Samir Tomb, Liza Tutunjian and Fadi Tok.
